Hello! I’m Zion.

I am an UX/UI Designer with a background in fashion design, currently major in Visual Communication Design at Rochester Institute of technology (RIT) in Rochester, NY

In high school, I started to find my own personal style through fashion and art. Started dressing myself in clothing that interested me, picking up pencil and paper to sketch. At that very moment, I was sure that design was the field I wanted to pursue

Studying Fashion Design at Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) is extremely rewarding as my designs are no longer a figment of my imagination, but an actual presentation that allows me to see smiles, satisfaction, and confidence when people wear and see my designs. My designs from fashion design to interaction design, tend to focus on functionality, simplicity, and neutrality

At the end of my junior year, user interface and user experience design came into my world and I realized that my design philosophy could be applied to this new design discipline to create even more impact. I’m excited to continue pursuing UI/UX design and apply my design philosophy to improve people’s daily lives and environments

My Resume

My background in Fashion Design

I was never the student with the best hand drawing in class. As a result, I explored other ways to express my creativity and found a way that was more suited to me: digital design. I taught myself a range of tools to create beautiful designs including Adobe Illustrator, Procreate and Figma.

I apply my personal design philosophy, enhancing interaction between the user and the environment through garments and applications. Hence, the final product of the design depends not only on the structure, but also on the combination of interior and exterior.

Design

In Fashion Design, I value accessibility, functionality and simplicity. I like to explore and learn from different design systems and tools. Since the beginning of my path into the design field, I have always stayed curious and learned continuously. The following three main criteria have not only taught me how to be a strong fashion designer, but have also made me a better interaction designer.

My curious nature keeps me learning continuously. There is so much in the world to learn and explore that I can never lose by learning too much.
